9th Grade students gathered in McVille for the 2024 NCHS Scrubs Camp, diving into essential healthcare skills! They learned how to evaluate vaccinations and discovered the life-saving importance of CPR in critical care situations. Thank you to everyone who made this experience possible—our future healthcare heroes are off to a great start!

Our amazing 8B section shared their talents at McVille Nursing this week, living out the "Everything is Possible" mindset! With Bennett and Ella as hosts, the students put on an incredible show that included: 🎨 Act 1: Elliott vs. Finnegan - Drawing Competition 🖐️ Act 2: Hannah M - Origami 🎤 Act 3: Cheyenne - Beatboxing 🤸 Act 4: Sophia - Gymnastics 🤹 Act 5: Kodee - Juggling 🖊️ Act 6: Eric - Drawing/Fun Facts 🎶 Act 7: Annika - Singing A huge congratulations to these talented students for their hard work and for bringing smiles to a wonderful audience!

Our FCCLA brought smiles to students and staff with fun-themed socks from a special fundraiser in support of GiGi’s Playhouse, an amazing organization dedicated to empowering individuals with Down syndrome. Together, we’re stepping up for inclusion, awareness, and wellbeing! 🧦✨

🎃👻 Halloween Fun at DP Elementary👻🎃 Our elementary students and staff had an amazing Halloween filled with creativity and fun! Costumes galore and a staff pumpkin decorating contest judged by our very own students brought out everyone’s talent and spirit. 🎨✨

Yesterday, Tyler Cree-Beglau represented Dakota Prairie at state cross country in Jamestown, ND. Tyler finished 241 out of 327 runners on a notoriously tough course. We are proud of Tyler making to state and representing Dakota Prairie on and off the field! Way to go, TCB!

Our 10th graders attended the annual North Valley Career Expo at the Alerus Center, joining over 1,500 students from around the region! 🌟 This high-energy, immersive event is packed with hands-on experiences and insights into high-demand careers, including HVAC, linework, firefighting, engineering, postal services, and more. A huge shoutout to all the organizations and professionals who make this possible and inspire our future workforce!

Three of our seniors attended the Educator Recruitment Event at UND! Jessie, Madysen, and Katelyn spent the day learning about various careers in education, including special education teachers, speech pathologists, counselors, IT professionals, and classroom teachers. UND went all out with the event—even the Hawk stopped by for photos!

Juniors and seniors had the opportunity to listen to representatives from the Air Force, Army, and Marines this week. Our speakers explained the unique roles of each branch, providing valuable insights into current career and college options. We also learned how quickly one's salary can take off in the military. Our first month of AR Winners!

Shoutout to a team of amazing 7th graders for helping out the Petersburg Post Office! 🌸 They worked hard trimming flowers and weeds , getting everything ready for the colder weather ahead. A huge thank you to them for their effort. The community truly appreciates your hard work!

💜 Last week, we celebrated Doris Forde Day, an official holiday in Petersburg by mayoral decree! 🎉 We celebrated with a 5K run/walk that all our students participated in, under the most gorgeous weather 🌞🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️. Mrs. Forde began her career in education in 1977 in Michigan, and has since filled nearly every position, from teacher to principal to tutor. You can hear her smiling "Hi, Honey!" down the hall. She'll give you snacks 🍪, but she won’t hesitate to call your mom when needed! Her no-nonsense encouragement and legendary hugs make her a true one-of-a-kind. DPHS is lucky to have her! 💜
